We stayed at the Castle Reef three years ago. There's a grocery store, restaurant and other shops right across the street so that's very convenient. The beach was surprisingly uncrowded. Since you're staying in June, you'll avoid the 4th of July crowd which tends to be noisy, drunken and destructive.

They had a saltwater pool which I preferred to the chlorinated ones at other condos, but the walkway around the pool was rough pebblestone - hard on bare feet. Our condo had almost no view of the ocean because of the layout of the place, but the grounds were nicely maintained and the condo was clean and well kept. We prefer the places farther south on A1A, but Castle Reef was pretty good.

Be sure to go south on A1A to Bethune Park. The boardwalk by the Intracoastal Waterway there is a great place to watch manatees and dolphins.

you will most certainly enjoy your stay at castle reef. i have been going there for 23 years, and finally bought a condo there 3 years ago. the beach is totally restored, and the area around the pool has been completely redone.

be sure to visit the sea harvest restaurant for good food and live entertainment....including the dolphin jumping in the river just outside the tiki bar.

see you there !
