Recommendations/Non-Ride To Dos..

Headed to Orlando for sons 16th birthday in a couple weeks..pretty excited to use our old park hoppers from 2006.

My son just recently had major back surgery so rides are out. Any suggestions on things to do, which park..what event? We do have park hoppers so depending on things worthwhile we can hop around.

I did make reservations at Capa @Four Seasons for dessert/firework viewing @8pm birthday night &

Lunch at Sanaa @Animal Kingdom Lodge

We only have one or maybe one and a half days at the parks which considering no rides is fine. Any suggestions would be great. Tia

If you don't want a lot of rides, I would visit EPCOT.

If you are going during the food and wine, I would visit during the week.

Hi Debra - Sorry to hear about your sons' surgery. It sounds like you are staying at Disney. Animal Kingdom is the park that come to mind with the Lion King show and a walk around Pandora, and the EPCOT World countries have a lot to offer with shows as does Hollywood Studios. (Indiana Jones and Fantasmic).

Animal Kingdom has the most impressive shows. EPCOT has a lot of non-ride things to see as well. Might be worth hopping over to Hollywood Studios to check out Indiana Jones show as well.

I think Animal Kingdom has the most to see that are non rides like the shows and the animals,

Festival of the Lion King

Finding Nemo

Rivers of Light

Flights of Wonder it is a bird show not to be confused with Flight of Passage

Awakening of the tree of like

Many paths that you can walk along to see animals and keepers who will talk about the animals

Just walking through Pandora is interesting

Outdoor performances, street performers

none of these are rides and are easily accessible.

Thanks for everyone's feedback. How time consuming is it to take public transportation to different parks as we won't have a car?

Public transportation will be extremely time consuming. Consider using Uber instead, if that's a possibility with the surgery recovery.

Pirates of the Caribbean has a drop and it can be a rough landing depending on the make up of people in your boat as it bounces off the sides of the track. Just as an FYI. Not sure how sensitive his back will be. Small children are allowed on the ride so its not crazy, but it can be a bump.

Toy Story and buzz lightyear can whip you around (especially toy story), not sure if this is something he needs to avoid?
