Our little "million dreams" experience

I've seen posts inquiring if anyone had an experience at WDW worthy of the "year of a million dreams." As small as it seems, we were all very excited about our little claim to fame. Our group, two of my kids and our friend, a CM, and I were walking from Tower of Terror to use our Fastpasses on Rock 'n Roller Coaster. A man walked with us and started talking to us, noticing that we were all in red tee-shirts, and he introduced himself as the MGM park manager (it was longer when he said it). He invited us to go into Rock 'n Roller Coaster thru the back entrance. We visited through our walk and all of a sudden we were at the front of the line and the manager asked if we wanted to go in the first car, so he introduced us to the girl at the ride as his 'friends from Michigan' and we were put right on the ride. It was pretty cool, and we still had our Fastpasses to go on again.

We got free family silhouettes at magic kingdom...which are brilliant! And (woo get me!) my daughter was asked to open the railway at Germany, Epcot, which involved a whistle, certificate etc.

I think it is a brilliant idea, but didn't get the night at the castle I was after despite lurking around it for ages! Some people are just never satisfied!

Ours also happened at MGM.It was our first day in Orlando and also the 8th Anniversary our family. As we were entering Beauty and the Beast,a CM asked why the 3 of us had on Happy Anniversary buttons. My very proud 8yr old daughter said "Today is 8yrs since I adopted them".The CM escorted us to the "VIP" section of the theater (Roped off and all,my DD thought she was a rock star). When the acapella group finished singing, they announced us as special guests, called us up,had my DD explain the occasion, sang When You Wish Upon a Star to us and gave us their CD.Talk about a Disney moment! My DH thought to pass our camera to another CM so we have the whole thing on video.I am getting that lump in my throat just writting about it again. Thanks for the chance to re-live it.May we all have many Magic Moments both in and out of The World with our families for years to come, especially this season.

Ok, now I'm all teary-eyed too! What a great story! I can add a little more....

In January 2007, our family (mom, dad, 4 kids and our oldest daughter's BF) took a "retrip" to Orlando. The main purpose of our trip was to include our adopted daughter (joined our family in 2002 at the age of 11) in Disney memories. The 'original 5' of us had gone in Jan. 2000, and we all had stories of our trip. In 2006 my husband and I celebrated 25 years as a married couple, and I started planning 'our big trip.' He came home one day and said, "we need to go back to Florida to make memories she can share." So the romantic anniversary trip turned into the family trip to celebrate 5 years since our newest daughter joined our family. It's great that we all have new memories which include the newest member of our family, and our soon-to-be son in-law.

tk4books,from one A-Mom to another, that is a fantastic story .It may not have been the romantic trip you imagined originally, but I am sure nothing could have been more magical or ideal. How lucky are we that these amazing little people are in our lives?

We had our own 'million dreams experience' we had come on our honeymoon and picked up some of those 'just married badges' (not hats or headgear though). And we were waiting at the gates at MGM for it to open and this lovely lady (Annie) came over to us and said we looked like smiley people and how would we feel about opening the park???? So we got taken into the park first had our picture taken infront of the hat (no crowds) had to say into a microphone 'hollywood here we come' and got driven to rock n roller coaster and got to ride it 1st ride of the day all on our own, we got a free picture that was taken on the ride. A fast pass to tower of terror (for anytime), VIP seating at the beauty & the beast show, where we were called forward and the people who do the warm up before the show sang to us and gave us a free cd. Oh and we got presented with a certificate from Mickey Mouse!!!!!
