Best beaches and dining at the parks

We're returning to Disney for the third time this Easter and would like to schedule in a beach day. On our last visit we chose Daytona but I think that we went a bit wrong and ended up on the racing beach. We're looking for somewhere with a bit of a promenade - a few shops and bars/restaurants to wonder around. Seriously considering Clearwater, but would welcome any other suggestions (within a couple of hours or so of Orlando).

Also, we're trying to budget for food and will probably grab food on the go at the parks 80% of the time. Can anybody tell me what to expect in terms of prices for burgers, pizzas, etc. I cannot remember from last time.

Many thanks.

I must say I am not a fan of Daytona, as I do think allowing people to drive on the beach is to it's detrriment- but others like it. I hate it.

IMHO, the gulf coast beaches are nicest. But Clearwater isn't my favorite. But, if you want a promendade type atmoshere rather than wide open golden sands, then that would be a good place to . Bit difficult to park at times, so leave early. You copuld try St Petes or Tresure Island a bit further south, and have a look at John's pass village- I think you would like it:

Cocoa Beach on the east coast, only i hour away might suit you better than Daytona perhaps.

As to places to eat, prices on this website:

Thank you very much for your reply. That link to all of the restaurants is fabulous. Very much appreciated.
