Best Airport Hotel

Hi guys, arriving Orlando Int next April at 10pm - don't want to collect car until next morning so thought we would spend first night at airport. Any suggestions as to best hotel gratefully received. Also - best car rental to collect from Orlando and return in Miami? We are planning to tour Gold coast before going to Miami to embark on cruise, so far flights and cruise booked but nothing else. Will be trawling TA for lots of ideas and tips for trip. Thabks in advance.

We like the Embassy Suites at the airport the best. Also good are the Courtyard,Hampton Inn and Fairfield Inn. The Hyatt at the airport is very pricey and all the other airport hotels include breakfast and have a shuttle from the airport. You can get a great deal on airport hotels on Priceline if you use it

We stay at the Hyatt Regency which is actually in the airport...right where you exit after and getting off the shuttle in the main concourse. It is great to be able to go straight to the hotel after the long flight. The hotel rooms are very nice, it has a great outdoor pool and two restaurants. Highly recommended and so convenient.

As for the hire car, I'm pretty sure most of the hire firms will let you collect in Orlando and return in Miami but I'm not sure if you will have to pay a one way drop off fee.

There is a new Comfort Suites about a mile from the airport. The hotel has a free 24 hour shuttle to/from the airport. It has been open a year now and would be a good place to stay near the airport. Hope this helps.

Another vote for the Hyatt in the airport. Great outdoor pool overlooking the runways. Lovely way to start the holiday.

We book a car through Usrentacar using Budget. Their office is in the basement of the airport....about 5 minutes walk from the Hyatt.

Your budget can be a guide, also your membership(s) in hotel affinity programs. Hotels near the airport represent all the major hotel brands, and they are quite competitive.

We stayed at the Crown Plaza just North of the airport on Semoran! Beautiful hotel, they have a shuttle (24 hours), and we were very satisfied. Found the great rate on Travelocity!

I'd have to repeat the suggestion: for absolute 125% convenience the Hyatt in the airport just can't be beaten. It's not the cheapest option but it certainly is very very easy. No taxis or shuttles. Just go right up the lift/elevator from the main concourse of the airport. Lovely.

Thanks for all the suggestions - I will check out the Hyatt as it appears to be the most convenient and after the long flight from Scotland which involves 2 changes to keep the price down! we will need some rest and relaxation before hitting the road. Can't wait to return to my favourite destination, it's been 2 years since we visited and we have never done St Augustine and the Gold Coast so I intend to spend the winter researching and planning the trip. Happy Halloween everyone
