Animal kingdom safari

Off in 3 weeks and we are planning to do AK first.

I'm planning to grab a fast pass then just straight onto the safari, is this the logical way to go, or do you have to Pre book the safari.

They'll also be 10 of us, so will we be able to go all together

You can't pre-book it to my knowledge, just sprint for the entrance when you get to the park. Each safari vehicle holds lots of people, you'll all get onto the same one! Not in the same row, though, but in rows next to each other.

Wasn't planning on wearing my running shoes, happy enough to trample over small children and the elderly though ;-/

When you say safari do you mean the ride or one of the tours?

if its the ride it is normally better in the morning before it gets to hot

We went on Exp Everest, then got fast passes for safari, went on Kali River Rapids and explored while waiting for safari fast pass time. And yes people were trampling small children and tripping on our stroller at rope drop!

Just had a look at the link and it for age 8 plus. Mine are 6 & 4, so it will just be the safari.

Thanks for your help

I always heard the advice that it was best to do the safari in the morning. However on our last trip, we arrived in Animal Kingdom at about 3pm and rode the safari at about 5pm. It was amazing, we had never seen so many animals, some of them coming right up to the vehicle. It must have been because it was a little cooler, so I would definitely recommend riding it late in the day (this was middle to late August and the park was quite quiet - might not be readable in early August when the park is busier)
