Go to Celebration one evening. Beautiful lights and fake snow !!

Book somewhere nice to eat christmas day although most restaurants on ID are open. Lots of the better hotels do christmas dinner but couldn't find many that did roast spuds !!

We have been to Orlando at Christmas on two occasions. Christmas is lovely in there. That said we have never been any other time of year (we are going in 10 days for a week). The parks are fabulously decorated. It’s one of the busiest times of the year there so the parks can get very crowded very quickly. Islands of Adventure was full to capacity by 11am on a couple of days and they wouldn’t admit anybody else which was a bit of disappointing and when you do get in the wait times for some of the rides are extremely long. Magic Kingdom was similarly full on a couple of days. Universal Studios have a Macy’s Parade which is good fun.

The weather can get a bit cold though. The first Christmas we went for 10 nights and we got two warmish days. We packed inappropriately and ended up having to buy warmer clothes in the outlet centre! Last year then was a little better, we got three bitterly cold days and the rest of the time the weather was pleasant – around 20 degrees maybe a little lower.

Be prepared for huge crowds and make sure all your Disney and Universal restaurant reservations are made ASAP.Buy your tickets as well to avoid lines at the ticket booths. We love the Osborne Lights and the resort decorations and sometimes get a tree for our suite. Use Fast Pass whenever you can. Afternoon tea at the Grand Floridian is fun.Roasted chestnuts and everything.Plan on layers of clothes-it is often very cold in the morning and evening and more moderate during the day when the sun warms things up-but last year,we wore down jackets and gloves most of the days we were there
