Sunday 19 August , 9th Full day. Blizzard Beach
After 2 relatively busy days, today would be a more relaxing water park day.
We arrived for rope drop, grabbed a table in the ski patrol area and then headed to the chair lift to go on Teamboat Springs, the family raft ride. This is one of our all time favourite rides and we went on it 3 consecutive times before the q’s for the chair lift built up. The best thing about this ride is that all 5 of us can go in it together. It was just as brilliant, as long and as great fun as we all remembered. Biggest laugh for the rest of the family was when the boat got stuck at the end under a water spray with me underneath it.
We then did Run Off Rapids 3 times. A very good tube ride.
Myself and the kids then did the Tobaggon racers, this is an eight lane mat slide and race to the bottom. Good fun, but it is very slow moving q to get the mats.
We then did Snow Stormers, another mat slide, but more slalom style.
By now Double Dipper had the usual longs q’s so we gave it a miss and I still haven’t built up the courage to go on Summit Plummet. Maybe next year!
We then chilled out for a couple of hours in lazy river.
DS9 did the Iceberg walk and the kids played on the Icebergs, trying to get all three of them on one free Iceberg in the middle. This area is always great fun for them and we got some great photos.
After a quick snack we tried to go back on the Family raft ride, but in the q for the stair lift, it was clear a storm was coming, and they closed the stair lift and then a minute later closed all the rides and attractions.
By now it was mid afternoon and we decided to leave and see if it was any better at Typhoon Lagoon or Aquatica. Unfortunately it was just as heavy rain so we decided to leave it.
We were booked in for dinner at House of Blues. We had a look around some of the shops in Downtown Disney. House of Blues was very good, although very limited vegetarian choices.
