Hi. We had to laugh the other year when we had a tornado sweep right past us. The preliminary warnings were to get into the basement until it had blown over. Try finding a house/villa with a basement in the area!!.

A tornado is nothing to laugh at.

The best place in a home with no basement is an interior room. Stay away from windows. Get in the bathtub with something over you is about the only thing you can do.

If you have a garage put anything that could fly (lawn furniture, etc) in the garage. Depending on type of lawn furniture you could also put it in the pool. Think anythiing that could become airborne and go thru a window.

Usually a bathroom or interior hall is best. Keep windows closed. Fill the tub with water, and some kitchen pans etc. Freeze as much water as possible, in anything you can find. If power is out, water may not pump into house, and ice will keep things cold for a few days.

I agree, put away outdoor furniture and store some non drinking water and buy in water for drinking.

If you have further Q's, ask the management company of your home. There should generally be something about procedures in your home booklet.
