Parking fee for Resort Guests at the theme park lots?

I keep reading about excessive waits, transit times, etc...with the Disney bus system. We're staying on-site at Port Orleans Riverside. We will have our car and can drive to the theme parks ourselves. Will we have to pay for daily parking in those lots even as resort guests?

Take the bus, no need to worry about parking taking the tram, monorail, ferry to the gates, the buses are excellent, drop you right at the gates. We have been staying onsite for over 20 years and rarely have a problem with the Disney transport.

You are on vacation relax, enjoy, you may have to wait 10 or 15 minutes for a bus, if you are that impatient take your car, but IMHO the Disney transport is very good,.

We are also driving and feel this is the best option because we will have to bring our son's stroller. My friend said that the buses are not stroller friendly.

Definitely drive. You'll save time and it is a lot more comfortable. I like to keep a small cooler in the car with some cold drinks ready to go at the end of a long day. Luxury!

No, you wouldn't have to pay for parking.

Try both. See what YOU prefer.

(Strollers need to be folded on buses. ...they also need to be folded on the parking trams if you drive yourself...)

We found getting the bus was actually easier...especially magic kingdom. When you drive yourself you then have to get from the car park to the park and at MK you have to walk from your car to the ttc (or get on the car park tram) then get on the monorail or the boat across the lake to the park entrance...with the buses it takes you directly to the park enterance saving quite a bit of time. other parks you still have to walk or get the tram to the park entrance.

The only time we found the buses really difficult was when the park closed and everybody was heading to the buses...but thinking about it now, everybody would have been heading for cars too so we still would have had that wait.

Yes strollers do have to be folded on the buses but you have to fold them if you get the parking tram or when you get back to the car anyway so there is no win or lose.

Have to agree you'll be much better on the busses for Magic Kingdom, if no other park.

You will be glad you have the car, especially at the end of the day when everyone is tired. Standing in line for a crowded bus is not a great way to start or finish the day. Its not a question of being impatient IMHO but choosing the more comfortable and faster way to travel. Its not just strollers, its all the stuff you have when you travel with children. Why struggle on a bus when you can drive yourself on your schedule? Parking will be free for you as a resort guest. and as for getting to the MK,one of the biggest moments going there is getting on the ferryboat from the TTC and seeing the castle loom up in front of to start our day at the MK-never loses the thrill.

Thanks, everyone. I remember being so excited riding that ferry boat as a kid, or taking the monorail to the Magic Kingdom. That was almost as fun as the park itself!
