Dining Reservations

We've been given a chance to make dining reservations at Disney. If we decide not to book a reservation (we don't know what park we may be in each day) has anyone had problems just walking up to a sit down restaurant and eating. I can't believe every guest has a dining plan. We would not be going to any meal with characters. We'll be going first week of March

Most Disney restaurants do not accept walk in. and most people don't have a Dining Plan(they are for disney resort guests only) but many people do make ADRs 180 days in advance. We only do that for character meals. otherwise,we call the Dining Line on the day of or a day before and make a reservation then...there has always been something acceptable. But without any ADR,you will find counter service to be a good option

We normally go over July 4th when it's quite busy, but the restaurants at the hotels really haven't been. We make reservations, but comment on how we really never needed them. I still think its a good idea. Running around trying to find a place to eat when you are hungry and tired can be frustrating.

They do accept walk ups your not guaranteed a table but they do happen. We once got a table at chef mickeys with an hour wait. Your best bet is to call Disney dining the morning of and see what's open and go from there

Try and make some sort of ADR, either in advance or the morning of as disnfan suggested. We have seen many people over the years trying for walk ups unsuccessfully, especially if there are more than 2 of you, and we always go off season.

Walk ups are pretty easy to come by at DTD but in the parks it's a different matter.

you can go to guest relations at the park when you arrive and see what restaurants have availability throughout the day but it is a risk. It does seem to be a bit easier now that some places have to be secured with a credit card as this stops people making adr's that they dont intend to keep.
