Universal Studio Orlando - on a budget

Will be at Universal Studio the weekend with four children-ages 6 to 17. We are getting the 2 day pass for the park. Any suggestions what to do outside the park that wont break the bank(shopping, resturants etc)? Our hotel offers breakfast - not to sure if we will eat at the park. Also, what is transportation like? We have to get to the port for a cruise - our hotel does not provide any type of shuttle service.

With that many people, you would probably do better with a one-way car rental to get to port. Shuttles would be a per person charge. Maybe someone could possibly suggest a limo service that would go to port for a flat rate.

You can get a free third day when you purchase tickets at several locations if you haven't already picked up your tickets! I would spend the extra $20 or so on the park hopper, you might want to revisit and stay later.

For the car try priceline I picked up a one day rental for $23, middle of June, hertz wasn't bad either if you try different discount codes.

Counter service food inside the two Universal parks is o.k., but if you want a real meal, head out to the CityWalk area and pick a place there if you want to still be on property.

I like the Three Broomsticks in the Harry Potter area for the best "counter service" meals.
