Where to meet for lunch with off property friends??

We will be spending a week at WDW, have some friends driving over to visit for lunch one day. How should this work? Should we meet at Downtown Disney? Thanks in advance for any and all advice.

I would meet at downtown disney for sure. Your friends can park for free. There are lots of dining options to choose from. You can even do some shopping

Do you have transportation? Or do they have room for you to eat off property?

We won't have any transportation, they might have room for us... but there are six all together and that could be a tad cozy.

The Grand Floridian Cafe would be a nice place to meet, particularly if your group are all adults. In addition to lunch, you'd get to see and explore the Grand Floridian, listen to the piano player in the lobby, sit outdoors in one of the numerous spots to settle in for a bit, and enjoy the nice shops. This was actually one of my parents' and other relatives' favorite thing to do!

If you have kids in the mix, lunch at the Whispering Canyon Cafe at the Wilderness Lodge would be fun. It's also an impressive hotel to explore, with more to entertain both kids and adults.

There are loads of places to have lunch at DTD. Paradiso 37 is lovely for lunch, they have a nice deck overlooking the lake and a great lunch menu.

If you can get off property I would suggest something like http://www.bahamabreeze.com/ off 535 in Lake Buena Vista not far from Downtown Disney

Bound to Disney transportation, Downtown DIsney seems a pretty obvious choice maybe Raglan Road or Paradise 37. There is also the new Splittsville bowling alley which serves food.

Another option would be something like Big River at the Boardwalk.

All of the above have outdoor seating if it is nice out.

Staying at your resort is also an option. We often visit out of town guests at their hotel which allows you to just hang out and talk.

You can also try Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge.... great food, very cool property, etc. Off property friends can come in and park at a resort for a few hours if they are eating there. They just have to let the guard know.

Unless something had changed recently, Boma isn't open for lunch.
