Toilets in restaurants and public toilets in parks.

Can some one put my fears to rest about gaps in the side of toilet doors. Is it for real!! and can some one tell me if it is the same in restaurants as well as parks and are the gaps really that big that i should be getting myself all worked up for.

sorry for neurotic rambling :(

There are gaps around the doors, but nothing to get worried about, that's the American way

The gaps are not that big, no need for getting yourself worked up, take a deep breath

Don't worry...they're not wide enough for anyone to reach through and it's considered rude and actually quite weird (or to use my own word "pervy") to peep. :-))

Most doors have more of a crack than a gap. It's really not worth fretting over.

Can't say I noticed american gaps were bigger than UK ones.

If anything, Us toilets are of a far higher quality/standard than UK public ones. (beach bars in places like KW not withstanding lol).

What else are you stressing about?

Mandy, I wish my toilet phobia was as simple as yours - I can't stand the look of a blocked/overflowing toilet !

American style loos are very different to our British ones and I have a real problem with the yankie bogs ( no joke ). There is a name for the phobia, but I wasn't bothered enough to note it.

The public toilets put ours in the UK to shame. I never use a public toilet in the UK unless I'm absolutely desperate, I have qualms about using them in the US. Certainly park loos & mall loos tend to be extremely well maintained.
