Weather in August?

We are due to leave in 17 days, we normally go to Orlando in October but due to my hubby's job and daughters schooling we are travelling in August.

Will the weather be unbearably hot and humid? And does it rain everyday?

Thanks

lol @ susie

I can't add much more but to tell you we've been several times in August (we don't mind the heat, it's hot here so we go from hot to hot so it's okay). It has never rained everyday and not usually for too long, maybe once in a week it'll rain for a couple of hours. We try to get in the pool by 3:00 ish every day and relax and back out for dinner, etc. We did have a hurricane once in 2004 that we flew down the same day as, but we just lost the first day and still had a great trip :)

"Will the weather be unbearably hot and humid?"

Yes, of course.

" And does it rain everyday?"

Not every day, but there is always a chance of rain. Summer is the rainy season.

I found a website called acute weather or something and the weather forecast looks great for the first 2 weeks. Only one day it said it would be substantial rain :) xxxxxx

That would be accu weather

The forecast might be good but that doesn't take away the awful humidity and heat which you should be prepared for

IMO, accu weather is notoriously unreliable and inACCUrate. This is why. They make long range forecasts up to one month out when everyone here knows that predicting anything beyond five days or so is simply not possible. They also neglect to give the probability (%) of precipitation during a given day. Some foreign travelers assume it is going to rain all day which it is not (unless we have a tropical weather system. I feel that they do a real disservice to unsuspecting travelers. Use weather.com for better results.

Or the National Weather Service, which has some local climate information.

August, like the rest of summer, tends to have wet spells (with rain for part of the day) interspersed with drier spells. Occasional tropical weather (usually tropical waves but including tropical depressions and occasional tropical storms) can bring torrential rain, usually for fairly brief periods. You will be in Florida well ahead of the busiest part of hurricane season, with storms no more likely than in mid-October.

Think of the hottest and sweatiest you have ever been in Redcar and triple it.

Get to the parks for rope drop, take a break in the hottest part of the day then go back in the evening when it has cooled down to just swealtering.
