Manchester Orlando via Chicago

Hi anyone else done this route with American Airlines? These are our flights but I saw some negative posts on Tripadvisor about the route, I will be travelling with two kids and a bit concerned about the lack of In-seat screens? We don't have iPads to take so guess it'll be the portable DVD player from the car we'll take instead. Do we also need to take our own headphones?

Many thanks in advance

I would bring your own headphones for sure. I've never taken that route being in the states and all, but I can tell you that the flight from Chicago to Orlando is usually very nice and takes just a little over 2 1/2 once you are in the air.

Chicago's airport is busy and prone to delays when weather is bad (locally or at many of the very large number of airports it connects with). Otherwise, it's a fine airport. I haven't checked ratings, but it seems one of the nicer ones I've been through in the US.

Have done the MAN-ORD leg but then on to LAX. The plane, service etc was fine apart from no seat back TV's. My preference would be to find an airline with them. We are flying MAN-PHL-MCO in 6 weeks and I think the cost was only slightly more than AA. Also I think DElta or United or both may have seat back TV's so maybe check them out.
