So Overwhelmed by Hotel Selection

This will be our first time not staying on Disney property. We need a kitchen for my husband since he will be prepping for a contest, so for cost savings we have decided to stay off Disney property.

I starting trying to narrow down my choices and it seems impossible!

Can you veterans throw out some suggestions? Looking for a hotel that can keep us entertained on the days we do not go to a park, location should be somewhat central to Disney, has to be in a safe location, needs a great pool preferably with a slide or splash pad, gym/fitness center and kitchenette. Oh, an under $175 a night would be nice! :)

Is that too much to ask for??? lol!

I would look at the Marriott properties, Marriott Lakeshore Reserve, Marriott Cypress Harbour, Marriott Harbour Lake and Marriott Grande Vista to start. Maybe the Hilton Parc Soleil Suites and Wyndham Bonnet Creek as well.

I can't believe how many places are saying certain rooms types are sold out already!!

Right now I'm considering:

Lake Beauna Vista Resort

Holiday Inn Orange Lake

Liki Tiki

Royal Caribe

Any input from anyone with experience of any listed above would be appreciated.

Thanks!

When are you going?? A couple of the Marriotts I've never seen over $200.

Of those above, the Royal Caribe is probably the nicest. Did you check the Floridays Resort?

Have you considered a condo? We are staying here right now: www.windsorhillsrent.com/cgi-bin/in.cgi…

The unit we are in is owned by a friend, but the property all seems very well maintained. Ours is three bedroom, two bath, with a full kitchen. There's a pool, small fitness centre. The community is gated, you need a pass to get in and out, a code to get into the pool area, etc.

HalifaxKD these are really nice! They look close and seems to offer enough to keep the kids busy on days not at the park! Prices are not listed though...what unit are you in right now? I'd be interested in a 2 bedroom.

kendallsmom: We are a family of six, we stayed in a two bedroom in july at the Lake Buena Vista Resort for $90/night. It was really nice. We got that rate by going on www.vrbo.com The resort is approximately two miles from the main gate to DW. Great pools and right next to some outlets.
