Go onto Virgin website and do a dummy booking in Prem Econ for your chosen dates to get an idea. It may be possible to get a deal nearer the time, but not sure how that works when using an agent as I never use them.

Might be worth having a look on www.v-flyer.com as well for info

Have you asked your travel agent to enquire that's what you are paying them for

£200 one way, would be what you are looking at

IMHO not worth it

We were offered an upgrade when checking in at Manchester for £250 pp one way

If I had that much money going spare I would rather spend it on my holiday

I dont think its worth it for what u get, imho. We have paid £75 1 way for extra legroom seats for 3. Think that will be worth it

We paid for extra leg room also, well worth it.

For me regarding premium economy, those that are in a financial position who wouldn't miss the money are the ones who should go for it.

The advantages of PE vs economy are:

- priority check in and bag drop (so less queueing at the departure airport

- a seat that is wider (equal to many airlines' business class) and with greater pitch and a greater degree of recline

- a slightly enhanced on-board food and drink service

- priority exit from the aircarft meaning you are up to 300 people ahead in the immigration queue (which saves time on arrival)

- priority baggage handling meaning you save time in the baggage hall

- on the very rare occasion they have to do operational upgrades (due to capacity issues or late change of aircraft) if you are booked Premium then the next step up is Upper Class which is in a totally different league. But to repeat - Virgin don't do this with any kind of frequency so don't book purely on this basis

Whether to go for it depends on your fiinancial situation. I'd do it only if your expenditure isn't going to mean compromising elsewhere. If it's not going to have a material effect on the rest of your trip then go for it.

We're flying PE with Virgin in April. We've paid £550 for adults and £400 for the kids return to upgrade. :)
