Can you take your own water on plane?

Hi,

I get very thirsty due to the climate on the plane and get thirsty almost straight away after drinking the tiny cups of water on the plane, I am type 1 diabetic. Can you take your own bottle of water as long as its under a certain size?

You can take any size bottle of water on the plane as long as you buy it in Duty Free.

You can, but you have to buy it somewhere past the security checkpoint. Or, I suppose you could carry through an empty bottle or two and fill them with tap water.

You can buy the water after you have gone through security....any size/amount you want.

As No Name suggests, carry empty bottles thru security and fill them before boarding.

I would not suggest empty bottles and filling them. I have never seen a water fountain at a UK airport and the water in the sinks in bathrooms may not be suitable for drinking. So it has to be buy some after security.

You can only take less than 100ml thru security. However you can purchase in many of the shops post security whatever you need.

So answering your question yes you can, just buy it after security

WH Smiths or Boots airside.

And bring an empty bottle on the trip back. US airports all have free water to drink from fountains.

I find it a disgrace these are not available in the UK.

Explain your dilemma to the flight attendants and I'm sure they'll give you a whole bottle instead of a cup of water.
