Re: Using facilities - pool, etc at other resorts....?

We're staying at the Cabins at Ft Wilderness Resort. Can we get off the bus or boat at another resort and use the pool at another place, say Wilderness Lodge or Caribbean or wherever? (If so, is there a restriction based on what category/class of resort at which you're staying?) Thanks.

In short, no you cannot do that.

Of course, you can try and may possibly get away with it - however most Disney resorts are now very wise to the 1000's that try this every year. Some resorts will not let you anywhere near their pool without a room key, while others have staff specifically tasked at ridding unwanted 'guests'.

I cannot imagine why the guests at the Grand Floridian would not want to share their pool with the hoards of RV campers from Fort Wilderness - lol

No, of course not. People pay a lot to stay at a Deluxe resort, some, for example, Beach/Yacht, you show your room key/magic band for Beach/Yacht and get a bracelet.

OK, thanks! Too bad, I thought maybe you could go over to a similar/same category resort.

Pools at the Cabins look sort of bland, but I've not been there in person.

You can, however, visit any of the other Disney resorts to have a look around. Some of them, Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge, for example are spectacular. The latter has lots of animals to look at. Use the coffee shops, walk around the grounds, do some people watching, have a cocktail at one of the beach bars...enjoy!

There is a feature pool at the cabins which is great fun. There is also a quiet pool so you will be fine

"Pool hopping" is only allowed at WDW "sister resorts" such as the three All-Star resorts or the two Port Orleans resorts.

So if you are staying at any of the All-Star resorts you can use the pools of the others? What about Pop Century and Art of Animation since they are so close to each other and both value resorts?

No, Pop and AoA are considered separate resorts and no pool hopping allowed at AoA anyway. AoA's pools are gated and require room key for entry.

I suppose though you could go from AoA over to Pop's pool if you wanted to without too much fuss (although officially not allowed), but most folks wouldn't choose that route since AoA's main pool is so much better.
