1st time travelers to Orlando (15 day Itinerary)

Hi Myself and my Girlfriend (27-28) are heading to Orlando for 15 days from the 1st of October 2014.

I have made up a small itinerary and was just wondering if we will have time for everything or are we packing too much in?

We are going to buy the Orlando Freedom Ticket on attractionticketsdirect.ie/orlando-combinati… so most things should be covered under this. Could there be a better site to get these tickets?

Also what’s the best way to get from the airport to The Point Orlando Resort near i-Drive?

Taxi or shuttle. Two reputable shuttle companies are Mears www.mearstransportation.com/global/orlando/ and SuperShuttle supershuttle.com/Locations/MCOAirportShuttle…

have you thought about going to HHN 24?

It will be on while you are there.

Also have you looked at Discovery Cove a very good day out.

Transfers can be booked via your airline and the will be a mini bus and take longer than a cab as you will have other stops before you.

Also on day 7 not sure you will have time to do both and might be worth splitting.

I agree that you will probably not have enough time to do two parks on day 7.

Day 2.....you have two parks down to visit? IMHO that is not a relaxing day as Sea World will take some time to get round? I would just do one or the other as you will probably have jet lag and be pretty tired.

We tend to do Sea World and Aquatica in one day now as we have been so many times before we know our way round and what we like to do and where to eat.

However for a first time visitor I would spend at least a whole day at each to discover everything that each park has to offer.

We also tend to visit them more than once when we go there so we don't miss anything!!!

I'd have a full day at Sea World as there are a lot of shows to get around.

I'd massively recommend visiting Halloween Horror Nights at Universal.

Also, it's personal preference but I have 2 days at Universal Studios (it's my fave park) and the new Harry Potter area might still be very busy and time consuming to get on the new ride.

I also have 2 days at Busch Gardens as it's huge and knackering to get around!

Epcot is also worth a visit, even if it's just a quick ride on Test Track before heading somewhere else.

Hi

As others have said do not underestimate Seaworld or Animal Kingdom.

At both parks we were rushing around last minute to try and fit everything in. These 2 days will not be 'relax days' if you plan on making the most of the parks!

I completely underestimated how big everything is in Orlando. We got to every park at rope drop and was there until closing (except for Hollywood Studios as we went back on one of our 'relax day' evenings to see Fantasmic).

Also KSC is quite far away (about 1.5 hour drive each way) so you might not be up for doing too much exploring after. Wet N Wild is one of water parks I would potentially drop.

I would maybe try the following -

Day 1: Wednesday 1st of October 7

Travel

Day 2: Thursday 2nd of October

Relax Day: Aquatica & Int Drive

Day 3: Friday 3rd of October

Kennedy Space Centre

Day 4: Saturday 4th of October

Relax Day: Blizzard Beach & Downtown Disney

Day 5: Sunday 5th of October

Seaworld

Day 6: Monday 6th of October

Universal Studios Florida & City Walk

Day 7: Tuesday 7th of October

Magic Kingdom

Day 8: Wednesday 8th of October

Relax Day : Typhoon Lagoon (was missed off your original plan but should be part of your tickets?)

Day 9: Thursday 9th of October

Universal's Islands of Adventure

Day 10: Friday 10th of October

Animal Kingdom

Day 11: Saturday 11th of October

Hollywood Studios

Day 12: Sunday 12th of October

Relax Day : Wet N Wild & Int Drive/Outlet Malls/City Walk (choose 1 or 2)

Day 13: Monday 13th

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay

Day 14: Tuesday 14th

Go back to any park or waterpark you like :-)

Day 15: Wednesday 15th of October

Travel Home

This way you are doing some of the less busy parks on a Saturday which would be potentially mayhem!

Hope this helps!

Have fun :-)

oh yes, animal kingdom is NOT a rest day! probably one of the most tiring days!

We did one day at Busch Gardens last time and got around the whole place - but again, was very tiring.

Halloween Horror is very highly recommended - just check out the youtube vids!

Oh a full day in Magic Kingdom is probably required too - and what about Epcot!? Its our fav Disney park - although we are massive nerds!

You probably should try to do a relax day with a whole day at Downtown Disney rather than 2 half days - Rosen at Pointe Orlando does Disney transfers but at aronud $18 each, PLUS you then need to get a disney bus from the transportation centre where you will be dropped off, to the polynesian resort, then YET another bus to downtown disney! If you're feeling confident, you could use local transportation instead which is a lynx bus at around $3 each and its straight there!

Universal - we used to do a day in each then a day split between the two - however i now think it will be half and half on each day due to the harry potter train ride which takes you from one park to the other.

with regards to your transfers - who did you book with>? most companies include them in the package. if not, contact mears direct via google - they are the most well known and probably the best vale for money.

8. Re: 1st time travelers to Orlando (15 day Itinerary)

Hi All,

Thanks so much for all the great advise.

I'm going to have to review my plan a bit with all your suggestions.

I think we will skip discovery cove as its not part of the ticket and we would rather use that day for other parks.

Thinking of adding an extra day or half day for Universal's Islands of Adventure & Universal Studios Florida so we can enjoy harry potter world fully.

On the freedom ticket there are 4 water parks Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, Blizzard Beach Water Park, Aquatica and wet n wild. Wet n wild is the closet so will be going to that one at least once.

Anybody have any opinions on which one to leave out?

Thanks Again

Neil

Each water park is different and are all good it just depends what you like.

A beach area to relax or thrill rides.

What are you looking to get out of a water park?

You're certainly fitting a lot in there...good luck with it.

You may wish to re-schedule your planned dates for Islands of Adventure and Magic Kingdom. By avoiding weekends (Sundays) you will fit so much more in. You will spend much less time queuing mid-week.
