A plan for Discovery cove?

Hi,

I haven;t really found anything like what WDW has were if you go to specific spots before the crowd arrives, you will get the most out of your day.

Does anyone have any comments for Discovery Cove?

So far I have gotten down arrive 30min earlier for checkin, free breaky on arrival, and then to go straight to the aviary because the birds are hungry and will come to you for food.

Are there specific places to go to first etc?

Thanks!

The park's not that big and doesn't have all that much stuff, but they also don't let it get too crowded. Other than maybe picking out a lounge chair in the shade, I can't think of anything you need to rush to. They probably set things up that way to make it more laid back.

I've seem people reccomend that you get a morning slot for the dolphin swim, as there's a chance the afternoon storms could affect a slot later in the day

Our plan is get in early for check in, bring ID if you are over 21 and will want some alcohol during the day and choose early slots for Sea Venture or dolphin swim.

We then find a locker, get changed and have some breakfast.

After that off to feed the birds and swim the lazy river.

The day will go fast but we always have fun here.

Thanks guys. At what point should you get your gear and snorkel?

Should we "claim" our lounge chairs somewhere and then go to look around?

After check in you will be directed to a locker area and will be given one. Then you get a wet suit or vest plus mask and snorkel.

We found Discovery Cove to be a go at your own pace and do what you want when you want kind of place with little planning needed. The park is quiet because they limit the number of visitors allowed so you can generally enjoy any part of it whenever you want. Only exception is the dolphin swim that has a set time for you.

We didn't do the aviary till afternoon and had no problems with birds being full.

Ref the sizes - have a look on their website I'm pretty sure it says 18XL is the biggest so I'm sure you will be fine!
