Help planning a trip to Orlando

We (family with three kids) are planning a trip to the United States. We think spend five full days in Orlando during the end of September.

How do you think we should divide the days between the various parks (my daughter adores the Harry Potter ...) and where should we sleep?

Thank you,

The first hotels to look at are probably the on-site hotels at Universal. Assuming you'll spend several days there, not having to drive to the park makes for a much easier day. The "luxury" hotels (which are actually pretty nice) allow you early access to the parks and also passes to use shorter lines for many rides. They allow you to do much more in a day. Universal also just opened a less expensive hotel that does not include the Express Passes, but it does let you get in early.

Outside of Universal, staying on-site at Disney is a good option, or on International Drive. The I-drive hotels near the convention center tend to be the very nice, although you should check the reviews on any place you're considering. There are some bad ones scattered around too.

Welcome. If DD likes HP staying on site at US will be a good option. It will still take you 2 full days to get round. hP is really detailed and needs time to appreciate in full. Not sure of the ages of your children but the rides in US/IoA have height restrictions on many including the feature HP attractions. Worth a check.

You then have a choice to make with regards to your further days. Disney is 4 full day parks so you are unlikely to get round them all. Choice to be made. If you are up to it move to wdw to maximise your time.

Hi, there are lots of parks to see. Can you make it at least 6 days? This way you can devote one day to each park (2 at universal/ioa and 4 main parks at Disney). You can stay somewhere like Homewood Suites which has free breakfast and free shuttles to both sets of parks, or on site at either or both sets of parks :)
