We have booked and paid for our hire car at thomsons and have the printed voucher for the car so the question is do we have to go to the kiosk or do we go straight to the garage.thomsons dont know and if we have to go to the kiosk can I check in online. We will be landing at mco.thanks for any help as I'm totally confused by it all.

Hi Paul,

You will be able to register with Alamo SaveTime. This allows you to use the self service kiosks in the terminal - https://v1.alamo.com/index.do…

You can not use the online check in facility which would allow you to go straight to the garage.

Please check that Thomson's have included all of the required insurance. Some of the tour operators offer "free" car hire but don;t include the required insurance. You end up having to pay for insurance which is more expensive than if you were to book through a UK broker in the UK.

Check out this guide - discountfloridacarhire.co.uk/alamosavetimegu… When you arrive at the kiosk, you'll need to type in your UK driving licence number (16 digits, not 18) to retrieve your booking.

Anything else, just ask.

do a dummy run via Alamo Brits for the total cost if you booked direct yourself , then find out if you have all the required insurance with your booking , if its a "free car hire" or part of your holiday booking and that booking was a package then chances are it wont include the insurance , and the cost to add the required insurance can often cost much more then it would to hire a car outright yourself

Please check this before you go as if you just turn up at Alamo desk and don't have the required insurance chances are they will have your pants down so to speak
