Can we go to the beach in February or is it too cold?
sit on the beach and get some sun? maybe/probably. spend a lot of time playing in the water? definitely wouldn't plan on it.
Expect highs to be around 70 and lows to be in the low 50s. If the sun is shining it is great to be on the beach. The water will likely be too cold to even wade in.
The panhandle part of Florida will be too cool to get in the water in February. The breeze coming off the water can make sitting on the beach uncomfortable unless you have a sweatshirt on. If you are from up north it might not feel cold to you. Just depends on what you are used to.
Define "your" cold threshold.
It’s dicey. It’s certainly not swim suit weather and for that you need to be in the Southern most areas of Florida. We get warm snaps but when it’s cold here it’s miserable - a wet cold that I’m sure you’re familiar with. On days that it’s warm and sunny you can cruise the beach in a sweatshirt. To spend money expecting to have a typical beach vacation would be disappointing in this area. I think people who come for Spring Break are crazy. Consider a cruise or the Miami area if you want to wear swim wear.
