Beach to Old Town - how far?

Wondering if we should stay on the beach, or the historic district? Planning two nights - two kids with us.

How long does it take to drive from the beach to the HD?

Thanks,

KC

Both beaches are approximately 6 miles from Old City, depending on traffic 10-15 minute drive.

Depends on your family/age of your kids, etc. Most kids - all ages - love the beach, so it's a good place to stay and relax. You can drive in to the city - park at the Old Jail (it's free if you buy Old Town Trolley tickets), then tour the city by trolley. The pass is good for 3 days and you can park at the Old Jail those 3 days and use the trolley as your transportation - no hunting for parking spaces.

I might do it the other way around. Office Max brings up some very good points though.

To quote my daughter, "Tru dat!" , Capn! You could opt to stay downtown and visit the beach a couple days. Anastasia State Park is beautiful, affordable, and has beach stuff to rent and a great lunch place. It all depends on your family. :)
