St Augustine, or Savannah again?

We just returned home from wonderful 2 weeks in Savannah, loved walking, history, nice people, accessibility to beach, decent weather for January, good restaurants. Are trying to decide whether to return to Savannah next year, or try something new. How does St Augustine compare?

I look at St. Augustine as a mini Savannah. Not anywhere near as large of a city, it does have some great history. If you didn't mind the weather in Savannah at this time of year you would be fine with St. Augustine. Beach is pretty close to town, not as far away as Tybee Island. You are an easy day trip to Amelia Island and Fernandina Beach too. If you are planning on 2 weeks you might want a week and St. Augustine and maybe a 2nd week somewhere else in Florida.
