St. George Island state park

We are staying in St. George Plantation for the week. Is it worth going to the state park on the other end of the island for a day? We already have a nice beach so I wondered if the state park is even more beautiful and enjoyable. No teens or young children, just kids in their 20s and adults in their 50s.

It's definitely worth it. The shelling is great and many treasures to be found there. We always drive down to the last pavilion and walk several miles towards the east. Most of the time it's as if we are the only ones there. Across from the first pavilion there is a walkover to the bayside that offers a dock out into the marsh and a walking trail that will take you deep into the trails on the bay side. We are on the island now and plan on going to the state park in the next day or so. Go for it. You will enjoy the peace and solitude and all of the sea treasures waiting for you to find.

Absolutely carve out at least a half day to visit the state park. It is stunning.
