St. Pete Beach vs Treasure Island

Our family will be returning to Treasure Island after an enjoyable stay last spring.

After reading several sites I'm wondering if

we would like SPB more. It seems a little

more upscale and the hotels look closer to the

ocean (TI beach is SO wide). Is there as much

to do? I know it is just down the road but

what are the differences?

I agree that they are quite similar. I have stayed at both, and I think I prefer St. Pete just slightly more because I think it is more convenient to grocery, restaurants, etc... I think probably the hotels are closer to the ocean at St. Pete. If you are looking for upscale, Don Cesar's looks great, (at least from the outside.) I usually go mid-price because I don't spend much time in the room anyway.

Just a little South of St. Pete is Fort Desoto Park which is really nice. Just a little North of TI is a cute little shopping area of St. John's Pass.

Either way I think the St. Pete Beach area is calmer and quieter than the Clearwater area.
