beach and water quality at st pete

Is the beach and water quality at st pete as good as clearwater. Never been to either one but was told st pete has more "seaweed" and isn't as nice.

Personally I think Clearwater has a better beach, the beach has white sand on it and it's very soft. The water is beautiful and it's very blue.

Both are very nice(never really seen seaweed), St. Pete Beach, Pass-a-Grille(just south of St. Pete Beach), and dont forget Fort DeSoto North Beach. Clearwater is just as nice, but more hotels and condos, and there is some construction going on, but you'd enjoy either...

I have been to both, and st. pete had quite a bit of seaweed while clearwater had none.

I haven't seen seaweed on the St. Pete Beach (though I have seen plenty on Spa Beach in downtown St. Pete and have seen pictures of the beach near the Holiday Inn Marina Cove by the Skyway with seaweed). St. Pete Beach does have a lot more shells than Clearwater but the northern end of SPB is better in that respect than the southern end.

Don't miss what Tampan said about Fort DeSoto (North) Beach. It is absolutely spectacular and has a lot of stuff to do without the commercialism of the trendy Clearwater Beach. (Not putting down Clearwater Beach, though. It is also one of my favorites.)
