Bait

We are currently staying in St Pete beach and having trouble getting shrimp for bait. Any ideas???

Go south past the Don Cesar Hotel to Pass-a-Grille, to the Merry Pier. They have fishing gear and do fishing charters. I think you can purchase bait there. Alternatively, try the pier behind the Publix store in the Dolphin Plaza. If all else fails, you could probably purchase some shrimp at Publix, but it might be a bit pricey for bait.

Actually Publix sell frozen shrimp bait - my husband gets it there.

When you get some, try ripping the shrimp in half. Catch just as much, and double your amount of bait.

For live bait I would visit Gulf to Bay Bait and Tackle, located on Gulf Blvd in SPB across from the McDonalds
