Please Help...Lodging in November

My husband and I are visiting Sanibel Island for 5 days/4 nights in early November. After reading many of the posts we had hoped to reserve a room/cottage at the Blue Dolphin - but it is fully booked. We are hoping to find accommodations that are a good value for the money (perhaps no more than $150-$160 per night) and we'd love to be on the beach. Thanks in advance for your recommendations and ideas!

Another cottage option is White Caps. 1 bedroom cottages, 9 units total, no pool and great area of West Gulf. Love the shelling there.

Waterside Inn has 1 bedroom and efficiency cottages in the same area as White Caps. We have stayed in the condos there several times and once in the cottages. Cottages are a beachy, comfortable but not glamorous. Pool.

Beachview Cottages in same area - Very cute, never been able to book in there but would in a heartbeat. Pool.

For more economic choices look at www.sanibelsmallinn.com

Condo choices - Ocean's Reach, Coquina Beach, Seaside Inn or Song of the Sea.

If you need help with mid week rentals, I can pull up a link for you. Check for condos at VIP, VRBO, Royal Shell and Cottages to Castles.

Hope that helped!!! Let us know what you find... : )

Among the most economical choices are Breaker's West(just behind Waterside Inn), Sea Shells of Sanibel which is across the street from the beach and Blind Pass Condos which are a short walk along an elevated path to one of Sanibel loveliest beaches (Bowman's)

Although they rent weekly, in Novemeber you might be able to get a shorter rental period..

I'm not sure of the current rates but I have stayed at the Sanibel Siesta condos a couple of years ago which are on the beach, very comfortable and in that price range. While I was there I checked out the Holiday Inn which is right next door and that was a gorgeous property also on the beach with a Tiki bar, nice pool and reasonable rates.

At this point I would try to reserve as soon as possible. Good luck!

I was checking out the Holiday Inn-Sanibel website

www.sanibelbeachresort.com and noticed some good deal under the specials and packages tab. You might want to take a look.

Try Sanibel Arms West, Sandalfoot Condo or Sanibel Moorings in the East End...All three should have some economical beachfront and gulf view units available at great rates.

Tropical Winds Motel and Cottages is up on the West End closer to Captiva, miles of private beach, beautiful.

Here are 3 suggestions: Forty Fifteen and Waterside Inn

are very close to the Blue Dolphin, on the West Gulf Drive, Sanibel Arms is also on the beach, but further East, which is a nice area of the island, it is Old Town Sanibel, quaint and nice.

Hope this helps you.
