Restaurant menus for newbies

Our first trip to Sanibel is next week leaving the ice and snow of northern Michigan for a 1 week respite. Thanks to all of you that have posted we have learned a great deal about the island and all that it has to offer. Since food is a high priority with us, detailed notes have been taken from your reviews regarding area restaurants. Is anyone aware of a web site that would allow us to view individual menus prior to our departure? Thank you in advance.

We are really looking forward to our trip.

My last look at cuisine-scene had it slightly out of date and somewhat generic with regard to a lot of the restaurants. If there are specific places that you might be interested in - come back to the forum and ask. You can bet someone has an opinion or a recent (within the last month or so) experience they can share with you for more specifics. If there is one topic this forum can't get enough of, it's food!

Check at the front desk where you are staying. We found several menus that were helpful. We also found more in the telephone book-restaurant section, of the yellow pages. I just returned last Saturday from my first visit to Sanibel. Our favorite meals were at Traders, Mermaid Kitchen, Grandma Dot's and the Mucky Duck in Captiva. Enjoy! It's a very special place.
