What's your vote for best Italian & seafood ?

Looking for recommendations for great seafood and Italian restaurants in both Sanibel and Naples.

Doing a day trip to Naples one day, rest of time on Sanibel.

The restaurants must be impecably clean with fresh seafood (good turnover). In addition, we are also looking for Southern Italian cuisine. Where the locals dine would be great to know as well.

Thank you for your suggestions, tripadvisors!

Il Tesoro is probably the best Italian since La Vigna closed :(

Matzaluna is more informal and family oriented although their pizza and eggplant parmigiana are both very good.

I don't know what southern Italian means, but Matzaluna is our pick for Italian. Have never had a bad meal there, and eat there often.

Seafood -- terrific seafood at Timbers, Traders, Doc Fords, Gramma Dots (for mesquite grilled grouper sandwich), and Lazy Flamingo. I know McT's is mentioned a lot here, but at Christmas I had a bad meal there, so it doesn't make my list. We also like the seafood at Matzaluna. My hubby just reminded me that Jacaranda is terrific as well.

Thank you so much for all your help.

Do people need to make reservations the last week in April?

Italian from Greenhouse Grill:

and seafood from McT's.

You should be okay without making a reservation at the end of April. High season is over and it is the beginning of low season. Most places you should be able to walk right in. If you go a little earlier between 5 and 6, you for sure won't need a reservation.
