Pointe Santo E27

Has anyone stayed in this unit? There are no reviews it seems anywhere. We are considering it for this summer. The online description states it has been recently remodeled.

Any other tips for an early June vacation? Traveling with in-laws and our 3 children.

I took a quick look at the online ads for E27. It certainly appears to have a beautiful beachfront view and comfortable furnishings. I did not see any photos that reflected recent remodeling...in the sense that many Sanibel rental condo owners have made extensive renovations to kitchens, bathrooms, furnishings and other internal decor. That being said...it looks pleasant enough and would likely provide you with a decent home base for your Sanibel family vacation. Pointe Santo has lovely grounds and seems to draw a lot of first time visitors to Sanibel as well as many repeat guests.

Regarding other tips...wondering about the ages of your children and the activities your family most enjoys? If you can provide a few more bits of information, there are many on this board who can provide you with a wealth of information and suggestions to help with your vacation planning.

Our children are 7, 5 and 2. We love all sorts of activities. Primarily just coming to spend some family time at the beach, etc. Thanks for any info in advance.

We stayed in E26 last year and my husband and daughter think that E27 has been updated based upon their quick peeks in the door. Even if it hasn't and what you saw in the pics is what you get, it's not bad. You absolutely can not beat the location and view. You are literally beachfront. Just walk down one flight of stairs that are right outside your door, around the side of the building and you're right at the beach! You'll love sitting out on the lanai, especially in the mornings.

Your 5 and 7 year olds might enjoy the kids program at PS. Monday - Friday they have aged-based craft activities for a small fee that last around a half hour. They crafts wind up being special souvenirs for the kids to take home.

All units at Pointe Santo are individually owned so the decor and updating will vary accordingly. Almost all units by now have opened up the kitchens during renovations to a make the unit feel more spacious as this one has. The bathrooms also look to be updated. The location is a corner unit, second floor. Your party of 7 will require a three-bedroom unit so this one will accommodate you.

It is never a bad idea to ask the owner or agent to confirm when the photos were taken and if needed provide more recent photos. Knowing what to expect minimizes problems later on!

On the upper right part of this page is a link to kid-friendly island activiites that might help as well.

We've come to Pointe Santo in late May / early June for the past few years, and stayed in a variety of units. We've looked at E27 but never stayed there. If the photos online are current it looks like it isn't as "upscale" as some of the others, but it's hard to say more than that from the pictures.

It sounds like your trip is similar to ours -- we travel with two kids (one ours, one a niece) and 2 grandparents, and we really enjoy the space within the 3BR units at PS.

We do love the A and E buildings, but it's hard to justify that expense every year. Still, especially with kids you can't always control when you're in and when you're out. Being able to look at the ocean even when you're trapped inside is a nice touch.

As for tips for that time of year, let's see ... it will be hot, but not August hot. There aren't as many birds on the island then, as compared to the winter. This summer, Wildlife Drive through Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge will be closed due to paving work, so keep that in mind.

Our daughter, turning 5 this year, does enjoy the kids' activities at Pointe Santo, but overall it's a very small part of why we keep coming back. We just love the grounds and the location, and the layout of the 3BR suites (we travel with the grandparents).

I too am looking at E27 for February, 2014. Did you stay in that unit? Thank you so much for any information you can give me.
