Sanibel Fourth of July Fireworks.

Love this event. But it's had a checkered financial backing in previous years. How about 2013? Where? What night?

Hello Sanibelog...we at the Chamber of Commerce have taken over the fireworks celebration for the past two years...so funding is no longer a problem. As always, they will be at dusk on July 4th. The Dunes Golf & Tennis Club will be hosting a fireworks celebration and, as always, they can be seen from the causeway.

Or go early and find a spot along the Spoil Islands of the Causeway, best spot ever.

@IslandChamber, do you work for the Chamber? Are you a volunteer?

I am not sure that you should be reviewing establishments in the review section of TA on the Island that are either members of the chamber or that are your personal favorites. If you work for the Chamber, it seems inappropriate to review members, if you are a volunteer, you may want to consider creating an individual account.

Hi Phil. Chairs and coolers on causeway, yes. Lawn chairs are allowed at The Dunes Golf & Tennis Club, but no coolers. See you there!

If you plan to view the fireworks from the Spoil Islands, go earlier and make an evening of it! Places to park will fill up fast. Chairs, coolers, grills, etc... are all permitted. There are a limited number of picnic tables there. If you can't grab a table, you can do a tailgate type thing!

You should be able to see the Fort Myers fireworks from there too.

we always watch the fireworks from the beach to the left of the Sanibel fishing pier (when facing the water). We take chairs and coolers. parking is $2/hr. there are restrooms near the lighthouse, you would want a flashlight after dark. the current can be strong around the lighthouse/fishing pier end of the island so be careful. we always see dolphins! we put glow in the dark bracelets on the kids.

We went to the Dunes last year and it was a blast! They had a huge slide for the kids and it was a great family atmosphere.

Highly recommend!
