Options for Best places to stay with kids

We will be in Sarasota from March 28 thru Mar 30 with our 2 kids (7 & 5).

What are recommended nice places with kids activities to stay while visiting Siesta for 3 days?

Thanks for all advices.

It will probably be tough to find any place for those dates at this time. As you know it's peak spring break season, so most places will be booked up. Maybe SRQGirl will have some thoughts on Siesta places with onsite kids activities; my own guess would be a place like Lido Beach Resort on Lido Key. More likely, though, you'll probably be doing the activities yourself with the kids, taking them to places like Mote Aquarium, Jungle Gardens, GWiz Science Museum, etc. That's a pretty decent way to spend time, though; adults have as much fun there as the kids do.

Any places similar to the Ritz-Carlton or the Longboat Key Club in Siesta or Lido and even Anna Maria Island?

Nothing like that on Anna Maria; AMI is primarily cottages and smaller facilities. On Lido Key, there are several "full-service" facilities, though none are rated as highly as the Ritz or Longboat Key Club. The best is probably Lido Beach Resort which is a Radisson property. Helmsley Sand Castle is also on Lido, but it's older. Holiday Inn is also on Lido and it too is quite old and not a "resort" kind of place.

Incidentally Ritz-Carlton, though it's located in the downtown area, has a beautiful beach club on Lido Beach, and transportation to and from it. The Sarasota Hyatt is also going to build a beach facility on Lido but construction has not yet started.

How far is clearwater from Sarasota?

What are the towns closest to Sarasota?

Clearwater is at least 1 1/2 hours away, maybe more.

What towns are you referring to?? The biggest "town" to our north is Tampa (1 hour away) and to the south is Ft. Myers (1 hour away).

You can "google" a map of FL and see locations and miles.

Any luxury beach family resort with amenities on the Gulf Coast?

Sarasota appears to be sold out for the dates we want.

Thanks SRQgirl

Gee, that's going to be very hard to find at this late date.

People have been asking about places for a long time.

Some booked a year in advance.

I'm sure Naples, FL (Ritz Carlton, 4/5 star) etc. will be about the same, as far as vacancies.

I don't know about St. Pete (the Vinoy etc.) where the hotels are larger. You can call and check.

After doing a quick search through AAA, you might find something at the Ritz Carlton in Naples for the dates you wanted.

There are other very nice places in Naples and Marco Island. You might check Sanibel Island as well.

Another place to check would be Gasparilla Inn on Boca Grande.

check out vrbo.com you may be able to snag a condo on your dates....and these beach is by far way better than clearwater....and if you get a condo on the beach...let them explore it...my kids love the beach way better than Disney,Busch Gardens...we have been to most of the attractions but they love the beach.
