Where to rent on the gulf???

Hi we are looking for a 2 bedroom condo on the gulf. Would love an up to date condo with a view of the gulf. Looking for the first week in April 2012. A pool is important and would prefer two large beds but willing to do a twin if that is only thing available. Seems alot of places do not rent for just 1 week. Love the crystal sands but can not find a one week rental. 2 couples in their 50's looking for a beach vacation. any help would be appreciated. Would prefer not to cross the road if possible to go to the beach unless only thing available.

Here are some options:

Jamaica Royale

Palm Bay Club

Sarasota Surf and Racquet

Siesta Dunes

Crystal Sands

Crescent Siesta Key

Hyatt Siesta Key Beach Club

House of the Sun

Sea Shell

Midnight Cove-Gulfside

Here are websites to look for places. You mentioned you couldn't find a 1 week rental, but owners might negotiate on these 2:

www.vrbo.com

www.vacationrentals.com

Others:

www.siestakeychamber.com

www.siesta4rent.com

If you need more info, just ask.

Each condo will be individually owned, so some will be upgraded...You must look at photos and ask questions.

You never mentioned a budget.

Crescent Siesta Key is a newer upscale complex in a great location.

It isn't as large as others. You can go to their website and look at photos.

http://www.crescentsiestakey.com/

You could walk across the street for dining/small shops.

Siesta Key and Anna Maria Island are 2 very different places.

AMI is more "Olde Florida"....charming with no high rises...they also have a trolley. Siesta is closer to Sarasota and a variety of things to do.

I don't know what you are looking for as far as a vacation...You can look at websites for both places and post on the AMI forum, as well.

Look at the condos I recommended...you have plenty of time to research and negotiate price/length of stay.

Hyatt Siesta Key Beach Club is over the budget.

I am searching on VRBO thru all the ones you suggested. Is there a better area to choose for the beach and conveniences?

What type of conveniences? There are shops etc at Crescent Plaza, if you are looking for places in walking distance.

http://www.siestakeyislander.com/

It is a 5 minute drive to Siesta Village from the Crescent Beach area and there is also Jonny's:

There are a few places that are Gulf front close to Siesta Village:

Sandbox on the Beach

Siesta Sands on the Beach

both are literally on the beach, but neither have a pool.

There are places across the street from the beach...

You are coming during Spring Break, so that's something else to consider....

I am surprised how difficult this time of year is to find a condo directly on the beach.

Try Crescent Towers....I am staying there in a week and didnt have any issues with getting a condo. It is right on the beach.

There aren't any 2 BR units at Crescent Towers.

As I have previously mentioned, you are coming during Spring (higher rates and less availability). If you could come in May you would have a larger selection.
