My wife and I (31 and 32 respectively) are looking to plan a week-long Siesta Key vacation. We are fairly flexible with our dates, but our preference would be during a slow part of the season (or whenever we can find some better deals on accommodations). Ideally, we would like late summer (potentially Labor Day weekend, though I imagine that's not the most cost effective week), but like I mentioned, we are fairly flexible around that time-frame.
We have both been to Siesta Key before (twice for me and once for her) and stayed in condos both times. I can't exactly remember where we stayed but definitely in the one of the (many) condos along Midnight Pass. We don't need all the bells and whistles; a kitchen would be nice but is not a necessity. Most importantly, we want a clean, well maintained and comfortable place to stay. In terms of location, the closer to the beach, the better; we definitely do not want to have to drive to get there. Last time, we stayed fairly close to Midnight Pass & Stickney Point (a bit south of there), and whatever the name of the beach is in that area, we enjoyed it, though we are open to any (preferably non-public). We thoroughly enjoyed being within walking distance to a bar, as we spent quite a few nights at the Sniki Tiki (our condo was very close to there), so a bar in walking distance would also be a big plug.
I can't provide an exact budget, as so much is based around the rates for the slow(er) part of the season. I will say that it's probably a safe assumption that we're looking for something middle of the road price wise; we certainly don't need anything more than that; less is OK, too, of course.
This will very much be a relaxation, sitting on the beach (and pool) type vacation. My wife isn't much in to more active water activities, but we do enjoy renting bikes to ride on the beach, as well as tennis.
We would greatly appreciate any advice you have for us, and if you have any questions to further identify what we are, or are not, looking for, please just let us know. Thanks!
