Hutchinson Island/ Stuart restaurants?

Looking for recs for our upcoming vacation. We enjoy Florida seafood and restaurants at marinas or on the water. Although we are staying on Hutchinson Island (Marriott) we will have a car and don't mind driving and the restaurant doesn't have to ve waterfront as long as food is good! We like all types of food as well.

My search so far has come up with Conchy Joe's, Sailors' Retreat, Riverwalk Cafe, and Wahoo's.

Any comments on these choices or suggestions for others are welcomed. Thanks for your help!

12A Buoy is great as is the nearby Chuck's on Seaway just East (opens 4 pm). I would give Sailors Return a miss, maybe have a drink there but we have given up on the food. Crawdaddy's in Jensen Beach has great food in a very casual setting (cajun options are good, my fav is the "cajun picnic" they also have good jazz music a couple of nights a wk) Riverwalk Cafe has very good food but is a bit pricey. Wahoo's is a great setting, food hit or miss with the new Owners. Manatee Island Grill in nearby Port Salerno is getting great reviews and we have enjoyed it on the two occasions we visited. On The Edge on Seaway is good weather permitting as it sits out on the inlet which is lovely. Caps on Hutchinson Island is small but very good, we love the fish tacos there. For a sports bar with good food try Duffy's right downtown Stuart and take time to stroll the little downtown. Free concerts Sunday afternoons on the Riverwalk overlooking the St Lucie River can be a lot of fun. The Pelican Restaurant under the Roosevelt Bridge on the river is a good place for weekend bfast or lunch any day....great italian is GiGis in Jensen and Mario's on US 1 in Stuart...not fancy just good solid food. Benihanas very close to where you are staying is nice for lunch overlooking the Indian River and has a great happy hour if you enjoy sushi. Most rolls and sushi half price....Carson's Tavern is also close to where you are staying on Ocean Blvd, good pub food...we have lots of great places here!! Jan's is popular for bfast on Jensen Beach Blvd...so many good options.

Missed the Dolphin Shrimp and Raw Bar also close to where you are staying. Sister rest of Conchy Joe's and comparable food. The Prawnbroker is just W across the bridge from where you are staying and is a local's favorite! Very good food. Try the coconut shrimp there.

Jans for us has the best Breakfast around. There on J.B. Blvd in old town Jensen Beach, right across the bridge from Hutchinson Island. Remember as you leave your hotel, Jensen Beach is to the right and Stuart is to the left.

If you go to Conchy Joe's, make sure you watch them feed the fish.

Good luck and have fun. Hubie
