between tampa and orlando

We are going to Florida in October for a golf vacation and would like to see both Tampa and Orlando. Is there anywhere in between the two that anyone could suggest?

Lakeland is between Tampa and Orlando.

There are towns between the two areas, but nothing that is a big tourist draw. Possibly Cypress Gardens in Winter Haven, but it is not nearly as large as Busch Gardens, or Disney. Basically, not much between the two cities.

Agree with MarkBee, there isn't much in between the two (only about a 2-hr drive or less). I wouldn't even recommend Cypress Gardens as we didn't care for it in the least. You're best to find things to do in Orlando and Tampa and just use I-4 as the route in between.

It's only about 1-1/2 to 2 hours between the two -- it's not a big deal to stay in one or the other (or both, for that matter!)
