Where 2 stay

We are a family of 4 and are coming down to tampa in mid March. We are staing 4 days and we want to go to a couple of yankee preseason games and spend a couple of days at the beach. i was thinking about the homewood suites in clearwater since we could get one suite for the 4 of us.

its not to far from the stadium and not to far to the beach. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Is it the one on Ulmerton Rd? It would be between the the Yankees and Clearwater Beach. It is along a mostly professional business corridor, so it if full of office bldgs, hotels, and mostly chain restaurants. Not much of interest to tourists there, though there are some places you could go out at night if wanting a few drinks or a meal.

You would be maybe 15-20 min to Yankees, and 25min or so to Clearwater Beach. so it is in the middle, so if you are only going to be at the hotel at night, and not looking for fun things to do very near the hotel, it could be a good central spot. Though, driving to the beaches on the weekends can easily double the time as traffic can get backed up with locals heading there as well.

From Clearwater Beach, it will add only 15 min or so to the drive to the Yankees, and there is tons of stuff there to do at night, activities, restaurants, beach, shops, etc etc.

Depends if activities near the hotel or the beach are a priority, or being very central to both.

You probably know this already... But, Philla Phillies have Spring Training in Clearwater if that would be of interest to you also.
