Best Overlook and Waterfall in Blueridge Ga

Hi All,

Planning a short get away next week and looking for the best overlook for fall leaves. Also a private waterfall off the beaten path. Any suggestions?

You have several choices on the leaves and the water falls, Fall Branch Falls is a really nice one, short 15 minute hike, it is a double waterfall, the drive out there on Aska road is beautiful as well. Pretty much everywhere you drive you are going to see pretty mountain and leaf views. The Ocoee Whitewater Center which is just 25 minutes from downtown Blue Ridge, has some beautiful views of the river and is a pretty drive out there for fall colors and mountain views, plus lots of beautiful hiking trails. There is a nice driving tour that the Chamber of Commerce has which includes a ride over the dam which is a beautiful view as well. I would suggest you stop into the welcome center when you get into town they are located on the main road (76/515) directly behind the CVS Pharmacy, you can also get a lot of information off of their website www.blueridgemountains.com then select Self Guided Tours (blue link on left hand margin) there you can print out a waterfall guide, a hiking guide, restaurant guides etc.... The driving tours are nice as well, driving tour number 1 is the one that takes you over the dam.

I am afraid you will be a little early for the leaves changing colors.

As for overlooks highway 52 from Ellijay to Chatsworth has several long range vistas. Sea Creek Falls is a nice falls... where no one will be at. It is about 15 miles south of Blue Ridge off highway 60.

my favorite is also on hwy 52, east of chastworth and east of fort mountain state park called the cohutta overlook on the right headed west. small place with gigantic vistas. it's before you get to the cohutta lodge
