By the way, the full name is Doc Holliday's ~ don't know why it's
named that in Chatsworth.
two other note worthy activities there are on a hot day to drive over to the top of grassy mountain nad jump in the lake there. i think it may be the coldest water within 100 miles. 2nd, wait until midnight and east up north of town to the cisco baptist church and seek out the cisco ghost.
Grassy Mt. is the place to go in the summer! When it's in the
90's here, you may need long sleeves up there, it's great!
My husband has told me about the Cisco ghost for years, but I've
never seen him 'personally'!
it's not a him it's a her, as it is widely rummored to a jilted bride running down the steps away from the church. as i recall the church is at the junction of ga hwy 2 there at the back way into jack's river falls and beech bottom.
of course you could always go look for ghosts at the old site of the sugarland truckstop in eton. i bet there are some dandy ones roaming around back there.
you can see atlanta on a clear day from the cohutta lodge. a little further downthe road the cohutta overlook overs a 360 degreee view of scenic mountains unparaleled in the area and for my money in the eastern united states. anything atop fort mountain is a vista.
"as that building was in our family for 3 generations."
