First time visitor

I have several questions. First is there much of a beach at high tide? Is it worth renting bikes for the week and how are the bike trails. Are there any points of interest that should not be missed? Finally what are the reasonable priced resturants that we should try. We dont like fancy high class places.

There is a beach at High Tide between East Beach (residential neighborhood) and the King and Prince Beach Resort. That includes the condos that are popular for vacation rentals at Shipwatch, The Beach Club and The St. Simons Grande. you can rent bikes by the day or week at Ocean Motion and it is probably worth it at least by the day. There are paths all over the south end of the island between the beaches and the Village/Pier. A couple great restaurants to try are Crabdaddy's http://www.crabdaddysseafood.com/ Chelsea's, http://www.chelsea-ssi.com/. Both are within walking/biking distance to the beaches or King and Prince Resort. Southern Soul Barbeque is great if you like bbq with a village and mid island location. Dressner's in the village ( Mallery Street) is wonderful and reasonable for breakfast. Moondoggy's (also in Village on Mallery) has awesome pizza! Brogen's is always a hotspot by the pier.

Don't miss the lighthouse (you can climb to the top), there are also 5 faces carved into trees around the island that an artist carved into some oak trees. One on Demere, on by Murphy's on Mallery, one in front of the sushi place in Redfern Village. You can probably get someone in the Glynn Art Center on Mallery to map them for you. Also the trolly provides a great 2 hour tour going up to Christ Church and back and you can catch it in by the pier in front of Brogen's.

Enjoy!

Thanks for the info. I printed a copy to take with us. We are staying two blocks south of the King and Prince. We will check out the bike rental and resturants
