bicycles on tybee island?

We have the first week of November to see Savannah, Tybee and Cumberland Islands. We want to bring our bikes and like to ride 15-40 miles/day? I would like to know about the weather and biking conditions. What other interesting things are there? We like to be outdoors and love to eat! Thanks!

Tybee is perfect for biking and that time of year you will have little traffic to deal with. Also not far from Tybee there is a bike path that follows the old train track bed along the river. If you are riding 15 plus miles a day you could ride to the pat and back. The only issue is one bridge crossing.

The weather in Nov. will usually be nice. It may be cool in the mornings but will warm up quite nice. There are lots of good places to eat on Tybee. Just do a search of this forumn.

I have seen several people riding bikes in the area. No problem. Most people seem to be "on island time" for driving and the speed limits are low. Main streets are wide. Weather this fall has been fantastic. Pleasantly cool mornings, not too hot in the afternoon.

The other great place to bike (lots of dedicated paths) is Jeckyll Island. Used to go there in the summer. Got sun burn on my feet sometimes!

Hope you have a great trip. Enjoy all the nice food and then bike off those calories!
