Venezia lido

Totally clueless and looking for help. Decent flight to Venice available at end of Sept. Looking at 7 days, hotel, or guesthouse in nice spot. Probably visit Venice itself but more interested in beach, cafe, people watching and a general look around. Any thoughts on double room. Budget £600 to £800 B and B ?

Prices are going to be in euros so you can translate into local currency using www.xe.com

I stayed here years ago when it was called the Villa Ada: venere.com/best-western/…

Or look around http://www.booking.com/city/it/lido.html

Things will be quietening down at the end of september, the beaches (paid) will probably be shut but you can go and sit / relax / swim no problem. the cafes on the gran viale will still be open but the beach probably not.

We have stayed at hotel Cristallo on the lido 3 times and not been disappointed. Good service, comfortable rooms and great location. Am lying on the bed here as I write!

The beach isn't the greatest, but we love the Lido as it's such a contract to Venice. We find it best to stay here during the day then head over to Venice in the evening when it's Mapuche quieter. Then we head back for a nightcap or 2 before bed. The bars / cafés stay open on the lido much later than venice.
