Help with Hotel??

We are needing a hotel in November on Veterans Day weekend. Points of interests for us would be Navy Pier, Millenium Park, and Michigan Avenue. What hotel(s) would be centrally located to get to these places? We would need to find a room for 5 people. Preferrably a hotel that offers breakfast. We have a person in our group that has bad feet and cant walk around much. Didnt want to spend alot of money going back and forth in Uber or Taxi. suggestions would be greatly welcomed.

5 people is a maximum in a suites style hotel, but NOT for 5 adults.

Public transit is good in Chicago. If you stay on or near North Michigan Ave, you can get around by bus. If you stay on or near State Street, you can get around using the Red Line rapid transit. There are Hampton Inns, Embassy Suites, etc. that include breakfast in the room price that are well-located for your purposes.

Navy Pier will involve a lot of walking. It's about 1/2 mile long and the bus drops you off at the shore end.

We stayed at The Fairfield Inn and Suites on West Illinois St. in the River North area last month. We were a three generational family of five and had a 2 queen studio.... roomy enough for all of us. However, the seven year old in our group slept on the pull out sofa bed. I don't think an adult would have enjoyed it as much as she did...lol. The included breakfast was the best we've ever experienced at a hotel.

We visited all the places you mentioned plus much more.....walked to public transportation access as well as Michigan Avenue and Millennium Park. Our daughter had the Uber app and it was a handy and quite economical way to get around, too.

Good luck, petlovr.....I recall your name and avatar from the New Orleans forum.....and we also know jlr. One other thing, if you've never taken a river boat ride to see the Chicago architecture, I highly recommend you add it to your list.

Thank you. I haven't been on the new Orleans forum in years. Lol. We have a hotel in the River North section but one of the people in our group has foot probs and wanted to walk closer to the sites. I'm not that familiar with Chicago so just wanted to throw out the question. Did you do alot of walking?

petlovr, we did quite a bit of walking on the day we did the American Writers Museum, Eataly, and then shopped The Magnificent Mile all the way to the Hancock Tower/360, Billy Goat Tavern, and back to hotel. I don't know the mileage/ steps (should've checked the seven year old granddaughter's Fitbit....lol), but I was pretty pooped when the day was over. On day 2, we walked to Millenium Park and The Art Institute but it wasn't that far from our hotel on West Illinois Street. Your traveling partner with foot problems may have a challenge, though, unless you enlist the help of a cab or Uber. Since our daughter did the Uber contacting/negotiations using her phone app, I don't know the exact costs of those rides, but it seems she paid @ $12-15 for all five of us to get around to places like the Field Museum from hotel or to Navy Pier from The Art Institute per ride. I perceived it as a real bargain at the time;). If I were you, I would just plan to budget a little more for such. I don't know your method of travel, but I assume you're driving. As you know, parking is a hefty price, but so is transportation to/from airport. We flew Southwest to Midway and paid @ $70. each way. Maybe that's why I thought those short Uber rides were such a good deal...lol.

Re: New Orleans .... I remember a visit several (probably five) years ago during which we were with jlr and some other TA friends...she made sure to take some pics to share with you. (My DH says my memory is bound to be a sign of psychosis...lol).
