You can easily fill a week here. There are tons of things to do/see here, depending on your particular interests.

Take a look at the introduction to Chicago section on this web site. Also look at www.metromix.com to see what's going on here in November.

www.transitchicago.com for public transit information. A CTA visitor pass might come in handy for your visit.

A proper answer to this post really depends on your likes and dislikes. Here are a few that might interest you:

The Art Institute of Chicago One of the great art museums of the world, the Art Institute of Chicago presents a collection spanning 5,000 years of artistic expression.

Arlington Park* NEW Throughout its more than 80 years of existence, Arlington Park has prided itself on playing host to many of the sport’s greatest moments and being a leader in Thoroughbred racing. Seasonal

While Chicago is a great year-round destination, any outdoor attraction will be closed in November. The weather is often cold and rainy, no surprise to a Dubliner. If you are looking for a change, you might think about catching a cheap flight south, perhaps to Nashville, for part of your stay. Southwest Airlines flies strictly within the states and is not listed on most search engines - you have to go to their website. FYI, Southwest flights leave from Midway airport, not O'Hare.

I just visited Chicago and had a great time. But based on prior experience, November isn't good unless you really don't care about weather. The U.S. is a big place, you can find a nice city to visit with a lot better weather in November.

For factual support, I went onto www.wunderground.com, used the trip planner, and came up with the following historical weather info. for the month of November:

Chicago: average daily high temp (fahrenheit): 51

average daily low: 37

average daily precip: 0.14 inches

daily chance of precip: 30%

San Francisco: avg daily high temp: 64

avg daily low temp: 50

avg daily precip: 0.21 inches

daily chance of precip: 35%

There are many other places which would be warmer still--Miami, New Orleans, Los Angeles, etc. etc. all would provide you with some warmth to get you through the winter at home. I just think San Francisco is an esp. great place so that is the first place I thought of to compare the weather.
