Safe to walk around River North at night?

I'll be staying at the Hotel Palomar and plan on dining at various restaurants in the area during my stay. In many cases, it looks like it would be quicker to walk than to take public transit. Is it generally safe to walk around River North at night (say around 9-10pm?) I likely will not go farther north than Division Street or farther south than the river.

Also, is it safe to walk from the Millennium Park area back to the Hotel Palomar around 9/10pm? I will be dining in the area one evening.

Thanks in advance!

Yes, it's safe. Many people live, work and play in the neighborhood.

Yes - it's safe to walk around the areas you've mentioned. As in any other major city, common sense prevails.

yes - River North - very safe - keep your "street sense" on high volume

at night as you would in any big city.

My adult daughter lives in River North and my wife and I walk around

quite a bit especially during the warmer months.
